Opened by his grandfather in 1952, Tom (Humphrey Thomas Gilbert III) took over operations of the gun shop in 2000 after Humphrey SR passed away. Tom then moved the gun shop to the old bank building in Elk Mound where it has been since 2001.

Starting a long history of personal and knowledgeable customer service, pictured here is Humphrey SR helping a customer at the old shop counter, which is the same counter still in use today at the shop in Elk Mound.

Purchased by Humphrey JR in 1969, the old bank building has worn many hats. Starting off as the first bank in Dunn County, built in 1894. The Gilbert family utilized it as a temporary residence, and later as pictured here, was used as a storefront for a jewelry store and art store for Humphrey’s art students at UW Stout, where he served as an art metals professor for 35 years.

Humphrey T. Gilbert III (Tom) moved the gun shop to Elk Mound in the year 2000, where it is still operating today. The move was to put it back on US Hwy 12 from Town Hall Road, where Humphrey SR was forced to move it when they put in the North Crossing in 1998.
